UNDER CONSTRUCTION

- The work involves renovating the fourth floor of the YMCA into twenty-three dormitory rooms and one resident apartment.
- Handicapped access will be provided through a code compliant elevator to the fourth floor with a security access system. A vestibule at the sidewalk shall provide access to the elevator.
- Handicapped accessible toilet rooms will be provided in a central location along with limited coin operated laundry facilities.
- Code compliant egress stairs, fire suppression system, and fire alarm system shall be provided consistent with the City of Manchester requirements.
- Existing windows will be replaced with approved insulated double-hung windows compatible with the existing building.
- A small lounge will be provided near the elevator lobby on the fourth floor that will include television area, kitchen sink, under counter refrigerator and microwave, with some supportive counter space.
- Finishes shall include ceramic tile on the bathroom floors, VCT flooring throughout the remainder of the floors, new painted drywall walls, and acoustic tile ceilings.
- All corridor doors will be new solid core wood in hollow metal frames with programmable security access hardware.
- Upgraded electrical system will provide adequate outlets and data connections in each room.
- The mechanical system will provide hydronic heat off the existing boiler with zone valves in each room. A supplemental boiler will provide adequate hot water for the domestic use including showers.
- Furniture will include a twin bed and mattress, bureau, desk, chair and window treatment .
- The schedule requires a certificate of occupancy for August 20, 2004.
