The addition and renovation to the John O. Morton Building, Concord, NH is complete. Designed by Dennis Mires, P.A., The Architects , Manchester, NH, the building is occupied by the Dept. of Transportation. The project was generated as a response to the current organizational structure of the Department and getting all of the Departments’ Bureaus back in one building. In addition, the existing building is being brought up to safety code, and the mechanical and electrical systems are being designed to provide the kind of control and flexibility necessary to support today’s office environment. Security and accessibility issues are also being addressed as the entrance is reoriented to face the natural approach and parking toward Hazen Drive. The original building represented approximately 96,000sf. When completed, the Department will have approximately 112,000sf. North Branch Construction, Inc., Henniker, NH is the General Contractor.
