In 2005
the Institute purchased the former Stan's Paint
Store on Amherst Street to provide additional
studio space. The mill framed building was originally
built for the PSNH meter department and was
occupied by Stan's Paint Store for over 56 years.
This latest project transforms the building
into an Art school by providing eight large
painting and drawing studios, expanded Ceramics
Department, gallery space and the Camera Shop
and Art Supply store at NHIA. It preserves the
original historic building and infuses it with
renewed energy in the first block off Elm St.
